The U.S. Department of Transportation’s IntelliDriveSM program is a crossmodal research initiative focused on the creation of safe, interoperable connectivity among all types of vehicles (automobiles, trucks, motor coaches, transit vehicles, rail, and other fleets), infrastructure, and mobile devices.
DOT’s IntelliDriveSM research program is designed to achieve a deployable system by ensuring that:
- Safety, mobility, and environmental applications are effective and validated.
- Technology is secure and interoperable.
- The system as a whole is sustainable, and publicly acceptable.
